Program Overview – Financial Planning & Analysis, Central Services
As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will work closely with program teams to deliver innovative financial models, improve operational efficiency, and provide meaningful data insights. Your work will ensure financial information is accurate, transparent, and compliant—empowering informed decisions across WoodGreen.
In this role, you’ll be part of our Central Services Finance team, contributing to planning, reporting, procurement, and analysis that drive organizational success. We’re looking for someone who combines technical accounting expertise with strong analytical and communication skills to turn data into actionable insights. Alongside routine reporting, you’ll lead strategic initiatives such as process improvements, budgeting, forecasting, and procurement management. You’ll also mentor team members and foster collaboration across departments, helping us build a culture of shared learning and continuous improvement.
What You Will Do
- Lead the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate journal entries and related tasks.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements—monthly, quarterly, and annually—to support informed decision-making.
- Perform detailed reconciliations of balance sheets and bank accounts to maintain financial integrity and transparency.
- Develop and update schedules for reserves and provisions, aligning with accounting policies and regulatory standards.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies across all reporting activities.
- Support audits by creating schedules, providing samples, and responding to control inquiries in a timely manner.
- Manage tenant payment processes and maintain accurate ledgers using housing software tools.
- Create clear, insightful financial reports and presentations for leadership and board members, highlighting trends and recommendations.
- Champion process improvements in reporting and procurement to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and impact.
- Contribute to budgeting and forecasting by delivering data-driven insights and recommendations.
- Mentor and support team members, fostering collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and a positive work environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field; CPA designation preferred, or actively pursuing CPA certification.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in financial reporting, audit (internal or external), or professional services.
- Proficient in MS Excel, including financial and data functions, with the ability to analyze and present complex information clearly.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial standards, and regulatory compliance, with a commitment to accuracy and transparency.
- Hands-on experience with financial analysis tools and accounting software, and a willingness to learn new technologies to improve efficiency.
